Inflation of foreign producers increased in June

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the Overseas Producer Price Index (YD-PPI) for June.

Consequently, YD-PPI in June increased 15.62 percent from the previous month, 26.29 percent from December of the prior year, 39.92 percent from the same month of the prior year and 61.58 percent from the twelve-month averages.

YD-PPI had risen 0.45 percent on a monthly basis and 32.13 percent on a yearly basis in May.

THE GREATEST INCREASE IS IN CAPITAL GOODS

Annual variations of the two industry sectors; an increase of 33.47 percent in the extractive industry and 40.03 percent in the manufacturing industry.

Annual variations of the main industrial groups; 37.10 percent increase in intermediate goods, 45.02 percent increase in durable consumer goods, 45.04 percent increase in non-durable consumer goods, 48.82 percent increase in capital goods, and 12.17 percent decrease in energy.

Monthly variations of the two industry sectors; Increase of 13.70 percent in the extractive industries and 15.65 percent in the manufacturing industry.

Monthly variations of the main industrial groups; 14.72 percent in intermediate goods, 13.33 percent in durable consumer goods, 14.46 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 27.15 percent in energy, and 16.11 percent in capital goods.

ONLY ONE SUB-INDUSTRY DECLINED ANNUALLY

According to the annual YD-PPI, 5 sub-sectors changed lower and 20 sub-sectors showed higher changes.

The only subsector that showed an annual decrease was coke and refined petroleum products with 12.17 percent. On the other hand, computers and electronic and optical products were the subsectors where the indexes increased the most with 60.62 percent, machinery and equipment with 59.14 percent and beverages with 59.14 percent.

Within the YD-PPI sectors, wood and cork products (excluding furniture) with 10.94 percent, other manufacturing with 11.26 percent, printing and recording services with 11.51 percent were the subsectors where the indices increased the least.

On the other hand, coke and refined petroleum products were the subsectors where the indexes increased the most with 27.15 percent, computers and electronic and optical products with 20.41 percent and other transport vehicles with 17.23 percent.
