Social support assistance increased by salary increase of civil servants

Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the Social and Economic Support (SED) payment, which is paid to families in need to cover their children’s school and other expenses, has been increased by 17, 55% in the salary of public officials.

Göktaş stated that the amount of the SED was calculated based on the salary increase rate of civil servants of 17.55 percent and the inflation rate determined for July 2023 and paid to families.

PAYMENT OF 584.1 MILLION TL MADE IN JULY

Göktaş said: “With SED, we cover the basic needs and educational expenses of families and their children. We made a total of 584 million 118 thousand 187 TL in Social and Economic Support payments to our families who need their children in July.

Emphasizing that the basis of children’s policies is the protection of family integrity and raising the child as a healthy individual in the family environment, Minister Göktaş said: “For this purpose, we provide social and economic support to families in need of their children. We attach great importance to maintaining family integrity and preparing children for the future together with their families. Our goal is to prevent children from being separated from their families for economic reasons.” (DHA)
