Declaration of “Antalya” by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the meeting held at the Family Life Center in Duacı Mahallesi in Kepez district.
Speaking at the meeting where ward heads and citizens were present, Ersoy emphasized that Antalya is an important tourist city and even the tourism capital in Turkey, saying:
100K DAILY VISITORS
“Antalya is the city where we get the most income. The number of visitors is also quite high. Hopefully this year we’ll get around 14-15 million visitors, and it looks like we’ll hit numbers close to pre-pandemic numbers. Antalya broke a record in the number of visitors in 2019. I hope this year it will reach that number. Julio is not bad either. Antalya currently receives an average of 100 thousand visitors per day. 98-99 thousand, some days it reaches 100 thousand. Hopefully, after July, we will again reach serious numbers in Antalya increasing in August.
OUR GOAL IS TO ATTRACT QUALIFIED TOURISTS
Expressing that Antalya is also an agricultural city, Ersoy continued:
“When we can bring enough tourists here, we automatically reactivate agriculture. Of course, we need to bring the season to 12 months in tourism. When we extend the tourist season to 12 months, we create a sustainable personnel policy in terms of personnel and pave the way for much more valuable investments to be made here. Our goal is to attract qualified tourists. We make sure that more qualified tourists come to Antalya. This goes back to our merchants, to our farmers as income and as movement. In this sense, the work done is very important”. (AA)
