No money found for salary increase
It turned out that the money could not be found to cover the increase in the salaries of workers, civil servants and retirees, so the additional budget of TL 1.1 trillion was shown as 794 billion lira missing.
IYI party MP Ümit Özlale determined that SKG’s staff salaries and bonus expenses were not included in the supplementary budget and asked the government why. The answer came from Mustafa Kalaycı, one of the deputies of the ruling partner MHP.
NOT WRITTEN IN THE BUDGET
Kalaycı said: “If we had taken these expenses (salary increases and EYT) into account, we would have had to include ‘fictitious’ income in the additional budget. Kalaycı explained that because they could not find the new revenue of 794 billion, they could not write the same amount of expenses in the supplementary budget. It is said that the government will spend 794 billion dollars, which it cannot allocate to the additional budget, with new debts that it will find in the market.
Özlale, who spoke during the supplementary budget deliberations in the Parliamentary Committee for Plan and Budget, said: “I looked many times, but I couldn’t see SGK’s staff costs and bonus costs in this budget. This expense, which amounts to 600,000 million, was not included in the budget. If it did, the additional budget would be 1.7 trillion lira, not 1.1 trillion lira.”
MHP MP Kalaycı explained that the additional budget must be balanced by law, but the additional cost stemming from EYT regulation, increases made to workers and civil servants, and holiday bonuses is 794 billion lira, while there is no additional income. in this amount. Kalaycı said that in order not to write a ‘fictitious’ income, they arranged with a stock market law instead of an additional budget.
OPEN TO 1.4 BILLION
MHP deputy Mustafa Kalaycı, who made technical explanations instead of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, announced that the budget deficit, which was 600 billion lira in the current budget, would increase to 1 trillion 453 billion lira with the addition of 794 billion lire of these expenses.
Kalaycı argued that the issue was resolved in terms of legislation with the relevant articles in the bag bill, and there was no illegality.
