The number of wage earners increased in May
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the statistics of paid employees for May 2023.
Consequently, the total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and service trade sectors increased by 4.0 percent in May 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of wage earners was 14,308,991 people in the same month of the previous year, it rose to 14,881,757 people in May 2023.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; In May 2023, the number of paid employees increased 1.4 percent in the industrial sector, 13.0 percent in the construction sector, and 4.0 percent in the commercial and service sector.

The total number of paid employees in the industry, construction and service trade sectors increased by 0.7 percent in May 2023 compared to the previous month.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; In May 2023, salaried workers increased 0.3 percent in the industrial sector, 1.5 percent in the construction sector, and 0.8 percent in the commercial and service sector.
