A subsidy of 500 thousand TL will be awarded for the transformation of houses
Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Özhaseki announced the new support package for earthquake victims.
Within the scope of the Site Conversion Project, a grant of TL 500,000 for residences and TL 250,000 for workplaces will be awarded to disaster victims who will build their own structure on the site. In addition, disaster victims who will build their own structure will be able to use interest-free loans of TL 500,000-800,000 for housing and TL 250,000-500,000 for workplaces.
Speaking about the provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, Özhaseki stated that they will complete 319 thousand houses within 1 year and deliver them to the beneficiaries.
Özhaseki’s statements are as follows:
* The number of homes built is around 180 thousand. We will start delivery in October, November, December. With the work done in the last 20 years, we have seen that TOKİ survived this earthquake. We will finish 313 thousand houses in one year and deliver them to the beneficiaries.
* Constructions will not be carried out on fault lines. There are places where there is liquefaction in the soil. It is located right where the liquid comes from. Constructions will not be carried out in places where there is liquefaction in the soil. It is not possible to build structures in stream beds. Zero tolerance will be applied in engineering services.
* We have developed loan and grant methods by calculating construction costs. If more than half of the citizens come together when they want to build houses, we will give them the opportunity. We will donate 500 thousand liras for residences and 250 thousand liras for businesses. Loans will be given between 500,000 and 800,000 lira for houses. A loan between 250,000 and 500,000 liras will be granted for shops.
* We will continue giving loans up to 500,000 lire apart from the grant in shops. On the one hand, we will give grants, on the other hand, we will give grants. Loans here will have a 10-year maturity with a 2-year grace period, and interest will be zero. When that happens, we will say that this loan will work. We will give money in exchange for progress. In Anatolia, the houses and shops of those who have their houses built on a legal entity are destroyed. We will attend to these from the urban transformation and we will make those whose houses are demolished their legitimate owners.
* A loan of 500 thousand TL will be provided for houses with a gross building area of up to 100 square meters. A loan of 700 thousand TL will be provided for houses with a gross building area of 101-150 square meters. For workplaces with a gross building area of 50 square meters, the loan amount is 250 thousand TL.
* As of July 15 we will begin to receive applications at the offices and we will inform our citizens.
* We are establishing 22 zoning offices. We will continue it here for a while under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
