ESK will take the animals that are not sold in the qurban markets

Sacrificial animals brought to the markets but not sold due to Eid al-Adha will be purchased by the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK), the relevant institution of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the IHC will make an additional premium payment to offset the costs, taking into account the transportation, maintenance and feeding expenses of the animals that cannot be sold, in addition to the current purchase prices.

It will suffice for breeders to submit an application to the nearest IHC combined addresses with their animal identification documents and an official reference report from the veterinarian at the slaughter point of sale for their unsold animals.

Detailed information on purchase and payment transactions will be posted on the IHC website.

WILL CHANGE IN THE RANGE OF 160-180 TL

The current purchase prices for beef from the IHC were set at 180 lira for male cattle, 170 lira for heifers and buffaloes, and 160 lira for cows and buffaloes per kilogram.

An additional premium payment will be applied to current cattle purchase prices of lira 25 for male cattle, lira 25 for heifers and buffaloes, and lira 15 for cows and buffaloes per kilogram of meat.

The current purchase prices for sheep and goats were 175 lira per kilogram of lamb, 160 lira for full-body sheep, 140 lira for sheep, 110 lira for kids, 95 lira for thighs, and 95 lira for goats.

In addition to the current purchase prices for sheep and goats, an additional premium of 5 lire will be paid per kilogram of meat.

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı also shared on his Twitter account that sacrificial animals that were brought to animal markets but could not be sold due to Eid al-Adha will be bought by IHC if they demanded it, and He said: “We will always continue to support our breeders who add strength to our animal production.” (AA)
