ESK closes store with losses
The Meat and Milk Institution (ESK) has started to close its shops, where citizens stand in long lines to buy cheap meat. All but two of the institution’s stores in Ankara were closed.
ESK, which offers cheap meat products to citizens through its stores, jumped into the fray with queues forming in front of its branches.
Citizens began lining up in front of the IHC in the morning before the weather cleared.
When there were frequent fights and arguments, queue machines were placed in shops, like in banks.
The queues are disturbing
The increasingly long queues worried the government. The products of the Meat and Milk Institution were increased. Osman Uzun, the General Manager of the Meat and Dairy Institution at the time, said: “There were very long lines. That’s why we raised the price, ”he argued, and he was fired.
Then the stores began to close one by one. Only the Sincan and Ulus shops remained in Ankara. The Kızılay store with the longest queues was also closed.
