He traveled the world, founded his own country: Slowjamastan, the micro country in the middle of the US desert.
American DJ Randy “R Dub!” Williams founded “his own country of his” after traveling around the world and no longer having a new country to go to.
Williams, who works as a DJ in clubs, said he traveled to every country in the world and dedicated his life to traveling for many years. Claiming that he was tired of traveling and couldn’t find a new place to go, he DJ created a microcountry called Slowjamastan on the land he bought in California.
Slowjamastan’s website lists the citizenship requirements while introducing the country’s members of parliament.
Declaring himself the sultan of Slowjamastan in the country he founded on land he bought for $19,000, Williams told CNN International: “I went everywhere, I created my own country when there was no new place left.” Williams, who declared the independence of his country in the imaginary capital Dublândia, also set extraordinary rules in his country, which is built on a desert area of 11,000 hectares.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO WALK IN SNEAKERS
For example, wearing beach shoes is prohibited in Slowjamastan. DJ Randy, who rejects criticism of the dictatorship, says that Slowjamastan, like everywhere else, has its own rules.
The population of the country, which also has its own passport and money, is around 500, but 4,500 applications are said to have been approved. The country, which also attracts visitors, invites tourists to live this extraordinary experience. “Welcome to Slowjamastan” reads the driveway of a desert ranch northwest of San Diego.
The Republic of Molossia is one of the most recognizable microcountries in the world.
Williams, with the Slowjamastan flag flying in front of his palace, said he had seen 193 UN member countries and finally went to Turkmenistan and said: “Now I want the 194th country.” The American musician said that he saw different micro countries like the Republic of Molossia in Nevada and was inspired by these experiences.
The Republic of Molossia, known as one of the most interesting places in the world, declared its independence from the US in 1998 as a fictional micro-country. The country’s prominent leader, Kevin Baugh, argued that Molossia was at war with East Germany.
The country’s local currency was made of chocolate.
