“Euros 87 were stolen from our pockets in 14 years. Whereas we could buy 74 liters of gasoline for 200 TL in 2009, now we can buy 9.2 liters of gasoline. 64.8 liters of gasoline flew out of the tank of our car”. Reminding that the citizen could buy about 15 kilos of meat with 200 TL in 2009, CHP’s Burhanettin Bulut said, “Citizens can buy half a kilo of meat with 200 TL now. Whereas in 2009 you could buy 100 loaves of bread for 200 TL, now you can buy 40 loaves. 60 kilograms of bread were stolen from the table. Whereas in 2009 you could buy 18.3 kilograms of cheese, now you can’t buy almost 1 kilogram of cheese,” he said.

‘Is the economy going to take off?’

CHP’s Burhanettin Bulut, in his assessment of SÖZCÜ, said: “We were going to be in the top 10 economies in the world; the economy would rise, it would fly, it would run away. However, the government’s promises were not fulfilled. The purchasing power of the people has eroded. The government has made the citizens need regulated sales and lines of cheap bread. Even 1 kilogram of cheese cannot be bought with 200 TL, the largest banknote in circulation. If the citizen goes to the market, he cannot fill even half of the network. In this environment, the nation has become incapable of eating onions and bread,” he said.
