Construction production in the eurozone fell in March

The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published seasonally adjusted construction production data for March for the European Union (EU) and the Euro Zone.

Consequently, construction production in the Eurozone decreased by 2.4 percent in March compared to February. Construction production decreased 1.5 percent compared to March 2022.

Construction production in the EU also decreased by 1.9 percent in March compared to the previous month and by 1.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

THE HIGHEST DROP IN AUSTRIA

Among the EU countries, the highest increase in construction output in March compared to the previous month was recorded in Romania with 4.1 percent, Slovenia with 3.2 percent and Portugal with 1 .6 percent.

The largest decrease was recorded in Austria with 10.9 percent, Slovakia with 10.3 percent and Germany with 4.6 percent.

On an annual basis, construction production increased 28.3% in Slovenia, 17.7% in Romania and 4.2% in the Netherlands, while it increased 10.3% in Slovakia, 9 .8% in Hungary and the Czech Republic, and fell by 6.1%. (AA)
