Producer inflation in agriculture fell to 71.52 percent in April

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the producer price index for agricultural products for April 2023.

Thus, in April 2023 the PPI-agricultural decreased 2.32 percent compared to the previous month, increased 17.72 percent compared to December of the previous year, increased 71.52 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached averages of twelve months There was an increase of 134.06 percent with respect to the previous year.

Compared to the previous month, there was a 2.51 percent decrease in agricultural and game products and related services, an increase of 0.49 percent in fish and other fishery products, and an increase of 3.16 percent in forest products and related services.

Compared to the previous month, there was a 16.56% decrease in perennial herbal products, a 0.43% decrease in year-old herbal products, and a 5.78% increase in live animals and animal products in the main groups.

HIGHEST ANNUAL INCREASE IN CITRUS

The subgroups with low annual increase were vegetables and melon-watermelon roots and tubers with 35.85 percent, and cereals (excluding rice), legumes, and oilseeds with 49.99 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, the subgroups with the greatest annual increase were citrus fruits with 167.15%, live cattle (including buffaloes) with 135.86 percent and raw milk obtained from them, respectively.

The only subgroup with annual decrease was that of fibrous plants with 13.70 percent.

The subgroups in which the decrease was greater compared to the previous month were fibrous plants with 9.72 percent, vegetables with 0.12 percent and melon-watermelon, roots and tubers, respectively.

On the other hand, the subgroups in which the monthly increase is high are the fruits of other trees and shrubs with 20.69 percent, and the fruits of hard shell and sheep and goats with 10.88 percent, alive; they had raw milk and fleece.
