Mutual fund growth in the first quarter of this year was 20 percent. 53 percent of the portfolio size of mutual funds is held by domestic individual investors.
Pension mutual funds have achieved strong growth in the last year, although they are low compared to equity mutual funds.
Pension mutual funds grew about 64 percent in one year. The pension investment fund portfolio, which was TL 277 billion at the end of March 2022, increased to TL 454 billion in the same period this year.
INCREASE IN THE SIZE OF THE INDIVIDUAL PORTFOLIO
The size of the individual portfolio, which was 90.9 billion lira, increased 268 percent in the past year and reached 334.5 billion lira at the end of March.
While the record increase in individual portfolios on a year-over-year basis stemmed from rapid growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, TSPB data shows that individual portfolios declined slightly in the first quarter of this year.
As of the first quarter of this year, the portfolio of 14 investment companies is managed by portfolio management companies.
