According to the president, those 60,000 have not yet contacted the taxman. “Now it will be suffocating, because the Tax and Customs Administration has announced that it will take collection really seriously from June 1st”.

However, Biesheuvel says the tax and customs administration is still open to customization. “Don’t get down to business, because after June 1 you can expect the bailiff. He won’t talk to you anymore, he’ll just collect money.’ According to the president, in many cases this concerns not only a tax debt, but also other debts incurred during the corona period, such as rent arrears or extra repayment or deferment of repayment. “But now the debts are piling up and then people will really make great strides.”

correctness

Biesheuvel points out that ONL lobbied for entrepreneurs to be able to accumulate a tax debt, get it deferred and repay it in instalments. ‘In fact, entrepreneurs have not had to pay taxes for more than 2.5 years and I think that’s fair for all those entrepreneurs who have paid. Because most have paid taxes, so everyone eventually has to pay back, I think it’s just fair play.’
