McDonald’s joins the wave of layoffs
The American chain of quick-service restaurants McDonald’s also joins the global wave of layoffs.
It was claimed that the company temporarily closed its US offices this week and is preparing to close.
The Chicago-based quick-service restaurant chain sent an email to its American and some international staff last week asking them to work from home Monday through Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported.
In the news, it was reported that the company asked its employees to cancel their meetings with suppliers at the headquarters and all other face-to-face meetings.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE RELEASED, IT IS NOT CLEAR
In the aforementioned email it was indicated that important decisions regarding positions and personnel throughout the company will be communicated in the week beginning April 3, but there is no information on how many people will be laid off.
McDonald’s Chief Executive Chris Kempczinski said in a statement in January that some of the company’s staff were planned to be laid off. (AA)
