The demand for an increase of 700,000 public sector workers will be presented to the Ministry next week.

Türk-İş President Ergün Atalay held a press conference on the coordination of the collective agreement, which affects 700 thousand workers working in the public sector.

Saying that the work of the collective agreement is about to end, Atalay said: “There is an improvement in public contracts, there is an improvement in base salaries, there is a social participation, there is an increase to request for the first 6 months, there is social benefits, there is overtime pay, there is an increase in service. There are about 18 articles,” he said.

Atalay said, “The friends will give their final form today,” adding, “At the beginning of the week, our friends will deliver the results of their meetings to the ministry.”

EXPLANATION OF SENIORITY BENEFITS

Noting that they had a meeting with Hak-İş regarding public collective agreements, Atalay said, “Currently, our friends are working to complete nearly 700,000 public agreements as soon as possible. The demand of the worker and our demand is to finish the public contracts before they enter the field of elections”.

Saying that severance pay is the red line for unions and workers, Atalay said:

“If a regulation is made about those who do not receive compensation, we are going to support what the government or the opposition is doing, but if you say ‘Let’s sit down and talk to the bosses’, we lost the opportunities we had every time we sat down. with the capital

That is why everyone needs compensation and organization except the bosses. The journalists need it, the unionists need it, the garbage collector needs it, the motorcycle messengers need it too.”

‘I SEE THE PROBLEM OF THE TEMPORARY WORKER SOLVED’

Recalling that EYT has been on the country’s agenda for the last 2-3 months, in addition to the public contract, Atalay continued as follows:

“Right now, we have a temporary worker problem. Our dear minister is making a statement on this, he says, ‘I’ll take care of this.’

As the head of Turk-Is, I see this done and finished because the state minister explains: ‘This matter will be resolved.’

This issue of temporary workers must be brought to the country’s agenda and removed from the agenda as soon as possible. We also have subcontractors. ‘Subcontractor’ is not a good word. I don’t like the word ‘contractor’ or subcontractors. This issue must be eliminated from the country’s agenda, and a legal regulation must be made as soon as possible. Let’s get this issue off the country’s agenda.

‘PRE-ELECTION APPLICATIONS’

Emphasizing that the demands must be met and the grievances removed before the elections, Atalay said, “We demand an end to public contracts before the elections begin, we demand temporary workers to hire staff, we demand that the issue of public contracts be removed. subcontractors of the country’s agenda.
