Loan volume increased by TL 85.6 billion last week

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Supervision and Regulation Agency (BDDK), the sector’s loan volume increased by 85.651 billion lira as of January 27.

In said period, the total volume of loans increased from 7 trillion 715 billion 643 million liras to 7 trillion 801 billion 294 million liras.

Total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by 71.474 billion lira last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 0.8 percent in the aforementioned week, reached 9 trillion 191 thousand 911 million liras.

CONSUMER LOANS INCREASE TO 1.1 TRILLION TL

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by 13.692 million liras as of January 27 and amounted to 1.119.587 million liras.

362.201 million lira of such loans consisted of housing loans, 52.785 million lira for vehicles and 704.601 million lira for consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by 1 billion 283 million lira to 976 billion 416 million lira. Banks’ individual credit card receivables rose 4.1 percent to 479.518 million lira.

238.359 million lira of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and 241.159 million lira were without installments.

INCREASED LEGAL EQUITY

According to weekly data from BRSA, non-performing loans in the banking sector decreased by 160 million liras compared to the previous week and fell to 161.822 million liras as of January 27.

A special provision has been reserved for TL 141 billion 215 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, the legal actions of the banking system increased by 9,814 million liras and reached 1,732,758 million liras. (AA)
