The Minister of Finance and Finance, Nabati, pointed out that the world is going through a difficult time in recent years, in the program held with the representatives of the business world and NGOs at the Permanent Representation of Turkey to the EU in Brussels.

Stating that each individual has begun to fully understand globalization, especially during the Covid-19 epidemic, Nebati said that Turkey predicted what will happen in the epidemic from the beginning and was one of the countries that saw the way forward with all the precautions you took. .

Expressing how strong and well organized the Turkish healthcare system was during the epidemic, Nebati stressed that Turkey provided quick access to medicines and vaccines during this period.

Noting that the Russia-Ukraine War took place at a time when the world began to see the way forward after last year’s epidemic, Nebati said: “The war has ruined everything again.” saying.

ENERGY AND COMMODITY PRICES ARE HIGH

Noting that the prices of all commodities, especially energy, peaked last year, Nebati stressed that there was an excessive increase in transportation costs.

Recalling that the sourcing problems and difficulties have already started, Nebati said there is a chip crisis in auto production and it is still ongoing.

Nebati pointed out that Turkey, as one of the energy-importing countries, was one of the few countries that solved these problems faster with the measures it took last year, and whose forecasts were updated upwards while the figures were revised downwards. of growth in the world. in 2022.

“When the war broke out in 2022, while global growth figures were falling, those who made their first forecasts for Turkey began to quickly revise them. Turkey, hopefully by the end of February last year, the leading indicators show, has become a country that will grow at the 5 percent level. The growth continues this year. If there is a country in the world that does not commit its budget, it is Turkey”.

Nabati recalled that the budget deficit was realized below 1 percent, while 3.5 percent was expected.

Stating that Turkey has become a primary surplus country, Nebati said, “In the most difficult period, our Central Bank’s reserves increased from $111 billion to $127-128 billion. At the same time, our general external debt stock remained at the level of 442 billion dollars”. he used the phrases.

“The year 2022 has produced clear results that will make you say Turkey apart, the world apart.” Nebati said that in his meetings with EU officials, he was asked how Turkey was able to achieve this.

Nebati said: “We know the reality of Turkey well because our president has brought Turkey to such a point in the last 20 years that it almost defies crises. “If there are crises looming, they are bound to be resolved.” There is a turkey that says. We are solving these crises.” he said.

Stating that Turkey is a country that has completed its infrastructure investments in 20 years, Nebati emphasized that Turkey has reached the position of a country that has grown, strengthened and is spoken of in defense.

Reminding that inflation is a big problem and inflation was felt very severely in Turkey last year, Nebati said, “We know how difficult inflation is, but we have the power to meet all kinds of income needs of people. low and steady. .” he used the phrase.

“We have brought growth above 5 percent. At the same time, we mobilize our capacity to increase our exports.” Nebati said that they have continued with their investments for 12 consecutive quarters.

Recalling that one of the most feared issues in the world during the Russia-Ukraine War last year was the problems experienced in the security of food supplies, Nabati said:

Noting that they discussed these steps by Turkey in their meeting with EU officials in Brussels, Nebati stressed that he was greatly admired by the great transformation Turkey made last year and the great contribution it made to humanity.
