Mehmet İşler, Vice President of the Turkish Federation of Hoteliers, stated that the absence of snow in the favorite destinations for snow holidays directs his preference towards thermal hotels and seaside hotels.
Isler told the AA correspondent that housing facilities said “hello” to 2023 with full occupancy rates in the New Year, and are now waiting for the semester break for new activity.
Pointing out that the air temperatures are above average for many years and that there is no snow in many ski resorts at the moment, İşler said, “In this period, mountain hotels and ski hotels would have been popular, but Today, since there is no snow in many mountains, especially in Uludağ, the final consumer prefers mountain hotels, ski hotels, winter hotels. She doesn’t use it anymore,” he said.
İşler stated that some ski facilities are trying to create mobility with artificial snow, while other ski resorts are having problems with the absence of snow.
Tourists can benefit from the 42-degree thermal pools at Afyonkarahisar, which is famous for its mineral-rich hot springs.
CLIMATE CHANGE REGISTRATION OF RESERVATION REQUESTS
Stating that thermal facilities are very popular in reservations right now, İşler continued as follows:
“Especially, Afyonkarahisar has now become the center of thermal facilities and there is a large flow of reserves there.
We see activity in Pamukkale, İzmir and Kızılcahamam, which also have thermal potential. We’re seeing semi-annual bookings heading this way, but that’s not all.
The lack of demand for ski hotels due to the lack of snow has directed attention and focus here to both thermal and coastal hotels.
Resort hotels under the name of seaside hotels also have good spa and wellness facilities.
We see the flow of reservations from tourists who want to spend a semester in many boutique destination centers like Alaçatı in the Aegean. With the change of climate, we observe that the reserve demands changes according to different directions and climates”.
SEMI-ANNUAL RESERVATIONS INCREASE BY 15-20 PERCENT
Stating that there has been an increase in semi-annual bookings compared to last year, İşler stated that the facilities have completed their preparations and guests will be accommodated with an indoor pool, spa, wellness, animation, children’s entertainment, activities and contests. .
Stating that semester vacation plans are mainly made for 5 days, İşler said, “Families who come usually demand that their children benefit from the thermal and indoor pools, as well as children’s activities and mini clubs within this 5 day schedule.
