The driving license age limit has been lowered for drivers who will be using large buses
After its publication in the Official Gazette, the “Regulation amending the Road Transport Regulation” came into force, drawn up by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
With the regulation, it became possible to keep guide dogs on buses for visually impaired passengers after meeting the necessary conditions.
In order to close the driver gap and contribute to youth employment, the age limit for drivers who will use large buses has been lowered from 26 to 24 years.
VEHICLE AGE REQUIREMENT INCREASED FROM 12 TO 15
The conditions for obtaining authorization certificates have been facilitated for people with disabilities who receive treatment in dialysis centers and companies that bring their parents. The age requirement of the vehicle is increased from 12 to 15 years, which will provide the minimum capacity for passenger transport.
The number of companies that can provide passenger agency services has been increased from 10 to 20, allowing international passenger agency service providers to also provide services to domestic carriers.
Facilitating arrangements were made in the notifications of the expeditions that could not be carried out due to force majeure in passenger transport or additional trips to adapt to the demands of the passengers.
EASE OF USE OF THE LOGO AND EMBLEM
In addition, a regulation was made to expedite the procedures for companies that are going to transport passengers. In this context, the age requirement for obtaining a driver’s license for drivers who will use large buses has been lowered from 26 to 24, in order to close the driver gap and contribute to youth employment.
To solve the problems arising from the applications for those who are engaged in terminal operations, it was easier to use short titles, logos and emblems.
For companies that do not meet the professional reputation criteria, a temporary suspension of activity has been implemented instead of the cancellation of the authorization certificate.
Time is rearranged to ensure that carriers that carry out freight and cargo transportation activities comply with the U-ETDS system.
REGULATIONS FOR THE PREVENTION OF UNREGISTERED
In addition, some efforts were made in order to strengthen the institutional framework of the sector and avoid informality, taking into account the growth of the freight transport sector and the contribution of international road transport to the country’s economy in the post-Covid- 19. epidemic period.
In this sense, the conditions sought for entry into the sector of those who want to carry out international merchandise transport activities have been redefined.
In order to prevent abuses in international freight transport activities, it was prevented from operating by illegally obtaining documents with a capacity of less than 60 percent through the sale of vehicles for exhibition.
In the last 3 years, those who have a contracted vehicle within the body of another company have the opportunity to obtain a K1 or L2 authorization certificate at a discount for a temporary period.
In the same period, companies dedicated to internal transport had the opportunity to obtain a temporary discount on the international merchandise transport authorization certificate.
A regulation was also elaborated to avoid repeated sanctions in activities with dangerous goods. (AA)
