TURKSTAT job change announcement

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) made a statement on the news about the dismissal of the Head of the Department of National Accounts.

Saying “There is no dismissal as alleged or a shift in responsibility stemming from the growth figures,” Turkstat said, “The head of the relevant department was fired after the third-quarter growth rate at TURKSTAT remained below the expectations” in some press and social networks stated that it did not reflect reality.

Pointing out the intensity of technical work and transactions at TUIK and the need for knowledge management and experience for the Agency, the statement said: “There is a need for rotation within the Agency on a regular basis. In line with this need, rotation was carried out among the Agency’s statistics-producing departments. In this context, the Head of the Department of National Accounts, which calculates national income, has been appointed to the Department of International Trade Statistics, where very important studies are carried out, such as the review of tourism income. statements were included.

The statement indicated that the change occurred because the interested party had worked in the past in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and there was a greater need for him in the other department, and the following was indicated:
