7 confederations of civil servants decided to resign from their job

Mehmet Balık, President of the United Public-Business Confederation, announced that he will leave his business with seven different members of the confederation on January 12 at the press conference held at the headquarters.

The Anatolian Confederation, the Confederation of Independent Public Employees Unions, the United Confederation of Public Enterprises, the Confederation of Labor Unions, the Confederation of Dormitory Unions, the Confederation of Unions for the Rights of Public Employees and the Martyr Confederation Gazi-Sen are among the confederations that will stop working.

“HOW ULUFE DISTRIBUTES…”

*The purpose of our meeting as seven confederations is to share with the public through the press the existence of authorized confederation officers Sen and Kamu Sen and the joint decision taken by the seven confederations against the increase in civil servants announced on 3 of the month, the additional increase made on the fourth of the month and the current situation.

*The rate of increase, which was announced by the President at the rate of 25 percent and then colludedly recorded as illegal, as if the default salary increase was distributed to Ulufe as if it were the pro-union demand.

“WE HIGHLIGHT THAT THE PRESIDENT MUST BE IMPACTED”

*While the salary increases for public employees must be increased in the presence of the three confederations authorized for collective bargaining and public officials at the table, in accordance with Law No. 4688.

* Now, since the concept of law has disappeared among us, Officer Sen and the Presidency can explain it as a certain number every day. In other words, the figure announced at an inflation rate of 16.48 percent is a very low figure.

*We know that the inflation rate is at least 78 percent in the current period. Thus, the six-month rise was 78 percent. In the first semester there was an increase of 41.69, which shows that there was an annual inflation difference of 125 percent.

*As a result of the announcement of the lowest inflation rate in history announced by TURKSTAT, it was announced at 16.48 percent. In the meeting prepared by the confederation, it was publicly announced that the President ignored the law and increased it to 25 percent on his own initiative, under the name of not repressing officials with inflation.

*Therefore, we emphasize that the president must be impartial. All of Turkey has seen that the official Sen applauded the 25 percent tax as if it exploded. A day later, he found the rate given by the President to public employees low. Law number 4688 was ignored and the two confederations that should be on the table were ignored.

“THIS RISE WILL NOT SATISFY PUBLIC EMPLOYEES”

*As is well known, Kamu Sen and Officer Sen stand behind everything they say, while Kamu Sen tweeted that the President’s additional raise was enough. They met with Officer Sen behind closed doors and explained that the 30 percent increase was enough, with theater planned in advance.

*The public expectation of Memur Sen and Kamu Sen was an increase of more than 45 percent. But this increase will not stop there, and there will be a 10 to 15 percent increase like February-March. Again, ignoring the law, a new increase hit the agenda.

* It is known to all that; This increase will not satisfy public employees. As seven confederations, we are already aware of this situation. We do not find it possible to accept this situation.

*We do not have the power of power, we do not have political parties behind us, we are trying to establish an independent trade unionism. We are honorable public servants of this state, we are public servants trying to contribute to the state according to the constitutional norms.

*For this reason, firstly, we want the laws to be fully complied with and, secondly, we want the salaries of all public employees to be reordered.

“TWO KILO MINDS FOR AN ADDITIONAL 5% RISE”

* It should be noted here that the wage gap between public employees has increased. There are multiple salary differences between the teacher and the branch manager, the doctor and the chief physician, the engineer and the chief engineer.

*This situation, while a 30 percent increase was realized for employees in the auxiliary service class, the same rate of increase for senior civil servants increased the gap between the pay gaps.

*Therefore, we do not want salaries to increase in percentages with this system. In any case, increasing salaries in percentiles is not an acceptable situation.

* The additional 5 percent increase is equal to two kilograms of ground beef. Whichever supermarket you go to, you can only buy two kilos of cheese with 5 percent. Therefore, taking all this into consideration, we have made the following decision. Our only strength is slowing down or leaving work at the job site where we work.

“OUR DECISION TO LEAVE WORK IS A WARNING TO THE GOVERNMENT”

* On Thursday, January 12, 2023, we decided to stop working in the fields where we work with all our members in Turkey. We will be in the fields all over Turkey by not using our production energy on January 12.

*Our decision to leave work is a warning to the government. Again, if this issue is not worked on during the elections, we will meet again in February, and with the reassessment, this time with more days, we will continue our warnings and take different courses of action.

“OUR ONLY STRENGTH…”

* Our only strength is to go out on the field and tell our people the situation we are in. Of course, there will be citizens who are hurt and angry with us. But our citizens will understand us.

*When you go to a public institution today, you will already know the status of the officials who work there. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

*On January 12 we left work and went out to the field together with our seven confederations and their affiliated unions”.

“OUR CALL TO OTHER CONFEDERATIONS, INCLUDING KESK”

Fish called other unions and confederations and said:

“From here, we call on all confederations other than Kamu-Sen and Memur-Sen in Turkey to independent unions, let’s unite on the 12th of the month. First of all, there is the KESK sitting at the triple table as civil servants, other confederations, including the KESK, and our call to all unions, big and small, numbering up to 150, let’s be together on January 12, from the hand”.

“IF THEY DO NOT GIVE US OUR RIGHTS, WE WILL ASK FOR IT AT THE BOX”

Fish also said:

*Behind closed doors, the words that this increase must be made are pronounced by pro-unionists. An additional increase will be made The President also said so at the meeting and said: ‘We can make improvements to the minimum wage of public workers and employees, depending on the situation.’

* The rate we want is certain, it would be nice if they gave the proper rate of increase. If they don’t, the officer’s most important weapon is accountability at the polls.

* If they do not give us our right, we ask for it at the ballot box. Our demand is to fix a wage again above the poverty line.

*The poverty line is around 26,500 lire according to the latest research from our confederation. Therefore, we demand this right with a new salary regulation.
