Unemployment rises to 3.7 percent in the UK
In the statement from the National Statistics Office (ONS), it was indicated that unemployment in the country increased to 3.7 percent from 3.6 percent in the month before October of this year.
In the statement, it was indicated that although the shortage of skilled labor in the country decreased by 65,000 in November, it was at a level of 1.9 million, which is serious enough to affect the economic outlook.
In the ONS statement, it was noted that the income of employees in England increased by 6.1 percent in October this year, excluding bonus payments.
FROM THE MINISTER OF FINANCE ON INFLATION AND RECESSION
Assessing the unemployment data, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt said that inflation and recession caused by the epidemic and the war between Ukraine and Russia affected the growth of economies around the world.
Minister Hunt said: “We have a plan to get the UK economy back on track to help cut inflation in half next year. However, this requires some difficult decisions to be made at this time.”
In November this year, food prices in the country increased by 14.6 percent. Inflation in the UK continued to rise, especially driven by energy and food prices, hitting a 41-year high of 11.1 percent in October. (AA)
