The meeting date for the minimum wage has been determined
Ergün Atalay, president of the Türk-İş Union, the institution that represents the working class in the minimum wage negotiations, spoke on the issue.
Atalay said: “The schedule of the minimum wage determination commission has been determined. The first meeting will be held on December 7 at 2:00 p.m. and the second meeting will be held on December 14 at 2:00 p.m.
Atalay further stated that the minimum wage is a living wage and that there are problems that he hopes will be resolved in his working life.
‘I HAVE PROBLEMS IN WORK LIFE’
Atalay said:
“Those who go to the markets know better what it is. After this figure is announced, I hope that if there is a figure that makes society smile and please parties, we want all three of us to sign. But if there’s a number that we don’t want, I’d like to say that we won’t be at that table.
There are problems in which working life begins. EYT is on the agenda, there is a shortage of subcontractors, we have a problem with taxes. Regarding promotion, some in the private sector give and others don’t. There is a need for regulation regarding the tax bracket. This all needs to be resolved in January. These are just as important to workers as the minimum wage.
Beyond the minimum wage, what will be the situation of the coaching staff, it is necessary to regulate.
There are also those who fire workers because the minimum wage has risen. The government needs to get ahead of that too.”
