The best-selling automotive brands in May were revealed

In the Turkish car and light commercial vehicle market, the top-selling brands in May were Fiat, Opel and Peugeot, respectively.

According to data from the Association of Automotive and Mobility Dealers (ODMD), last month sales of cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 70.9 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 111,356.

In May, car sales increased 68.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 87,218, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased 79.9 percent to 24,138. Thus, the series Record car sales also continued in May.

FIAT IN FIRST PLACE

According to the information collected from the ODMD report, Fiat ranked first with 18,844 units in total sales, between passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Fiat was followed by Opel with 10,671 units and Peugeot with 9,954 sales.

Renault was fourth with 9,553 sales and Ford fifth with 9,253 sales.

Fiat was the brand that sold the most cars in May with 13,624. Fiat was followed by Opel with 8,798 sales and Renault with 8,554 sales.

Volkswagen ranks fourth with 7,512 sales, while Peugeot ranks fifth with 6,855 cars sold.

306 TOGG SOLD IN MAY

With the inclusion of Togg and Chinese Leapmotor in the ODMD brand list, the number of brands increased to 48. Sales of all brands except Smart and Lamborghini were made last month.

Togg sales amounted to 306 units for the month of May.

In the luxury car group, 96 Porsche, 86 Maserati, 57 Lexus, 32 Jaguar, 5 Aston Martin, 2 Ferrari and 1 Bentley were sold in May.

SALE OF LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

As for the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford was at the top of the list with 6,058 sales last month. Ford was followed by Fiat with 5,220 sales and Peugeot with 3,099 sales.

Citroen was fourth with 2,921 sales and Opel was fifth with 1,873 sales. (AA)
