Real Madrid announce the departure of Karim Benzema
Spanish La Liga giant Real Madrid announced that Karim Benzema, whose contract is set to expire next season, will leave the team this summer. The 35-year-old French striker’s name became associated with Saudi Arabian teams.
Benzema became the player who has won the most trophies at the club with Real Madrid, to which he was transferred at the age of 21 in the summer of 2009.
The French player won the championship 25 times in 14 seasons; 5 Champions League, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga, 3 Copas del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cups…
The French player became the club’s 5th most played player at Real Madrid, where he played 647 games, and became the second top scorer in the club’s history with 353 goals.
Real Madrid will hold a farewell meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at 3:00 p.m., with the participation of President Florentino Pérez.
