A ‘new solution’ to the limitation of 6 thousand kilometers in second-hand vehicles
After the 6 thousand km restriction on the sale of used vehicles, there was a noticeable change in advertising sites.
According to the new regulation announced by the Ministry of Commerce and published in the Official Gazette, those engaged in the trade of used motor vehicles will not be able to sell vehicles within 6 months of the date of registration and before the 6 thousand kilometer limit. .
However, after the implementation that came into effect two days ago, an increase in advertisements for ‘6001 km’ vehicles on various ad sites drew attention.
It is claimed that there are those who abuse this application, which was issued to prevent those who buy new vehicles from not using them and selling them more expensive than new, and somehow “find their way and continue selling.”
It should be noted that there was an increase of 6,001 kilometers of vehicle advertisements in all makes and models.
‘UNREAL STATEMENT MAY BE THE PROBLEM’
In recent months there has been an increase in sales of second-hand vehicles, which are more expensive than new ones, after buying new vehicles on the market without using them and waiting for them to be appraised.
In particular, vehicles over 300,000 TL to 450,000 TL were quickly running out of stock and were not available.
For this reason, the request for 6 months and 6 thousand km was also issued, which came into force to facilitate access to new vehicles that citizens had difficulty accessing due to those they bought and sold.
Briefing sozcu.com.tr on the latest status of the app, Arabam.com Marketing Director Dr. Naim Çetintürk said, “Although we have prevented ads of 6K km or less from entering, there may be some advertisements containing false statements.
Dr. Çetintürk said: “In addition to the fact that the information stated here is the responsibility of the seller, those who want to misuse the application can resort to such a method to overcome the problem of placing ads, since it is not possible for the I announce platforms for the control of vehicles put up for sale”.
‘THE EXPECTATION OF A PRICE DROP IS NOT REALISTIC’

On the other hand, Çetintürk had the following to say regarding the expectation that there will be a serious decline in second-hand vehicle prices after the implementation:
“It is not possible to find it very realistic because the parameters that determine prices, such as the exchange rate, the legal tax process, the level of production of zero-kilometer vehicles and inflation, are strong factors.”
