Finland announced: Borders will be closed
Finnish Prime Minister Orpo made a statement at the press conference about irregular migrants arriving in the country through Russia.
Orpo announced that it is planned to close the entire border with Russia due to immigration concerns.
4 BORDER GATES WERE CLOSED
Finland decided to close four border gates with Russia over the weekend, arguing to prevent the flow of “third country citizens.” It was reported that the decision in question would be valid until February 18, 2024.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in his statement on November 20, following the news of the border closure, said: “This concerns us deeply. Because we had very good, pragmatic and mutually respectful relations with Finland. “Unfortunately, these relations have been replaced by an anti-Russian approach,” he said.
On November 22, Finland began installing barriers at some crossing points on its border with Russia to control the flow of irregular migrants. (AA)
