The head of the Egyptian Information Agency added that 11 Israeli prisoners held by Hamas are expected to be released during the day and that negotiations continue for Israel to release 33 Palestinian prisoners.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said the humanitarian pause should last as long as possible.

Baerbock emphasized that it is important that “the humanitarian pause has been observed for 3 days” and said: “This must last as long as possible to free the captives and get aid to the people of Gaza.” The central question is: How can we build a bridge between this humanitarian pause and the release of captives into the political process? he said.

Baerbock noted that when Palestinians live in security, Israelis can also live in security.

The agreement regarding a four-day humanitarian pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas came into force at 07:00 (08:00 Turkish time) on Friday, November 24.
