Turkish tourist who was defrauded with the promise of sex shocked the country: the woman was caught
The incident that occurred last week in Thailand, one of the most touristic countries in the world and known for its sexual tourism, continues to be on the country’s agenda…
A Turkish tourist, officially registered as “Ruhan Bey”, appealed to police on November 20, claiming he had been defrauded by a Thai woman at a hotel. In the incident that took place at a Pattaya hotel, a man who had recently become close to a woman he met on a popular matchmaking platform like Tinder and Bumble was severely defrauded.
After their night together, the woman and man went to the hotel room and became close, but before having sex, the unnamed woman asked the man to take a shower. The woman, who told the Turkish tourist, “Take a shower, I’ll wait for you,” later disappeared with approximately $2,100 in cash and an iPhone 14 Pro.
Realizing he had been robbed when he got out of the shower, the man immediately took action and contacted the police. The man’s quick contact with official authorities shocked the country. During the inspections, camera recordings in and around the hotel were closely monitored.
Eventually, Thai police caught a 38-year-old Thai woman named Nam while she was escaping on a motorcycle. The scammer was caught and she confessed to her crime at the police station where she was taken. Ruhan’s iPhone was also found on the woman.
Police chief Somchai Teerapatpaisarn said: “The incident causes great damage to Thailand’s image and confidence in tourism. For this reason, we took immediate action and made the arrest. If tourists need help, they should immediately contact the tourist police. “We provide 24/7 service,” he said.
