Spy satellite launch, chaos in the Pacific

North Korea launched a spy satellite and chaos broke out in the Pacific

According to news from “NK News”, the website that follows North Korea, in the statement made by the South Korean General Staff (JCS), it was stated that North Korea put a rocket into orbit apparently carrying a spy satellite. The statement states that the rocket was launched southward at 10:50 local time.

The Japanese Coast Guard also warned ships in the region about falling parts of the rocket. Today’s move by the Pyongyang administration was the third of failed attempts to launch a spy satellite on May 31 and August 23.

ALARM WAS GIVEN IN JAPAN

In Japan, the government issued an emergency warning to its citizens in the south of the country to protect themselves from a possible North Korean missile threat.

The Japanese government told Okinawa residents through its emergency broadcast system to hide inside buildings or underground. Public broadcaster NHK cited a Japanese Defense Ministry source as saying the missile could have been a satellite.

Later, the institution explained that the missile flew over the Pacific Ocean around 10:55 p.m. and raised the emergency alert.

NORTH KOREA’S ATTEMPT TO LAUNCH A SPY SATELLITE

North Korea attempted to launch a military spy satellite on May 31, but the attempt failed due to a malfunction in the carrier rocket system. The Pyongyang administration described this attempt as the “most serious mistake” of the first half of the year.

North Korea announced that the satellite would be “successfully” re-launched shortly, despite international condemnation.

The Pyongyang administration made a second attempt to launch a spy satellite on August 23, but announced that it also failed. After this failed attempt, North Korea announced that it would try again in October.

SOUTH KOREA WARNED

Defense Minister Shin Won-sik announced that North Korea was preparing to “launch a spy satellite within a week.”

On the other hand, Lieutenant General Kang Ho-pil of the South Korean General Staff said: “If North Korea launches its military spy satellite despite our warnings, our military will take necessary measures to protect the lives and safety of our town”. He used the expression. (AA)
