Conte also criticized the right-wing coalition government led by Giorgia Meloni for abstaining from voting on the “draft resolution calling for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza” adopted at the United Nations on October 27, calling it a “cowardly attitude.” . Conte stated: “In the face of this massacre and the death of more than 10,000 Palestinians, we cannot limit ourselves to a few humanitarian pauses, there must be an immediate ceasefire. “What is the government doing to stop the massacre in Gaza?” he said.

In response to Giuseppe Conte’s words, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tajani, stated: “There are definitely no cowards in the seats of this government. Maybe those cowards are somewhere else. There are no cowards here. “Mr. Conte, you have been prime minister before, I ask you to use more appropriate language,” he said.
