Biden’s call for hospitals in Gaza
US President Biden answered questions from journalists in the Oval Office about the Israeli army’s attacks on civilians and health institutions in Gaza.
“DON’T HESITATE TO TELL WHAT HAPPENED”
“As we know, I have not hesitated to express my concerns about what is happening,” Biden said. “My hope and expectation is that there will be fewer intervention actions against hospitals and that we will remain in contact with the Israelis,” he said.
“So I have a little bit of hope, but hospitals need to be protected,” Biden said, speaking at the White House as he signed a women’s health research initiative with first lady Jill Biden.
Israel has been carrying out intense attacks, especially near the Shifa hospital, since last week, claiming it is used by Hamas. Hamas rejects Israel’s claim. (AA)
