Eyes are blind… Air pollution has reached lethal levels

Diwali, celebrated by millions of people in India, has increased the already very high air pollution in the country to extraordinary levels.

Despite the ban on fireworks in the capital Delhi, many people celebrated Diwali by setting off firecrackers and a wave of fog surrounded the city. Many major cities in the country began today in fog that almost destroyed visibility.

MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HOSPITALS

The level of poisonous gas in the air, which has been very high for several weeks, was claimed to have increased significantly due to Diwali celebrations, farmers burning their crops and windless weather, with many people flocking to hospitals. complaining of difficulty breathing.

The air quality index in Delhi this morning far exceeded the normal value of 200, reaching 520 in some places, the government said.

In some parts of India, schools had early vacations due to air pollution.

Health experts point out that air pollution in Delhi is equivalent to smoking 30 cigarettes a day. It is noted that breathing toxic air will cause very serious diseases in the long term, including lung cancer.
