Israeli commander’s confession: we failed

Israel’s Southern Area Commander, Major General Yaron Finkelman, said at a press conference held in a region near the Gaza Strip border: “The Israeli army is fighting in the heart of Gaza City after of decades”.

Referring to the Hamas attacks on October 7, Finkelman said: “Hamas attacked us a month ago and seriously injured us. We failed in our duty on that terrible day. “These difficult events hurt me a lot,” he said.

“OUR OBJECTIVES ARE CLEAR”

Finkelman stated that they started a war since the Hamas attacks on October 7 and that their objectives were clear, and that their goal was to disperse Hamas and save captives in Gaza.

“WE ARE ENTERING A DIFFICULT WAR”

Israel’s Southern Area Commander, Major General Finkelman, said: “We are entering a difficult, complex and onerous war in Gaza.”

INTELLIGENCE WEAKNESS

Following the Hamas attack on October 7, the Israeli intelligence services were criticized. Israeli officials declared that they had failed in intelligence matters. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “everyone will be held accountable after the war,” including himself. (AA)
