Hamas statement on “missing hostage”

Hamas: more than 60 hostages missing

Abu Ubeyde, spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that more than 60 hostages were “missing” due to the Israeli attacks.

Ubeyde said they found the bodies of 21 hostages who were trapped under the rubble as a result of the attacks.

The spokesperson stated that “due to the attacks, they will most likely never be able to reach the rest.”

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari recently announced that the number of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip was 240.

Israel says calls for a ceasefire in Gaza can be discussed once the hostages are freed.

LATEST SITUATION IN CONFLICTS

While Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack on the morning of October 7, claiming to “respond to Israel’s continued violations against the Palestinians and their sacred values, especially the Masjid al-Aqsa”, the Israeli army also launched intense airstrikes against the Gaza Strip. The bombing began.

Israel announced that more than 1,400 Israelis, including 315 soldiers, were killed and 5,132 people were wounded in attacks carried out from Gaza.

According to Israel, the number of soldiers killed in clashes in the Gaza Strip since October 31 has risen to 25, while the Qassam Brigades are holding 240 Israeli prisoners. An Israeli soldier was also killed in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, 9,488 Palestinians, including 3,900 children and 2,509 women, were killed and at least 24,000 people were injured in Israeli attacks.

In the West Bank and Jerusalem, Israeli forces and Jewish settlers killed 144 Palestinians. (REUTERS)
