Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zaharova made statements about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at her weekly press conference. Zaharova stressed that such suggestions are “provocative” and said:

“We also think that such provocative statements encourage a radical orientation and an increase in the level of mutual hardening, provoking the prolongation of conflicts. If these plans are carried out, the displacement of people will cause a disaster and worsen the situation in the region. This will have devastating consequences for Palestinians, Israelis and the entire region. “It is strange to hear suggestions about the exile of the Palestinian people from their own lands by those who consider themselves owners of the idea of ​​reviving the Jewish state on historic lands.”

“WE ARE FOR A PEACEFUL SOLUTION”

Stating that necessary measures must be taken to resolve the current situation, Zaharova said: “They are in favor of resolving the issue between Palestine and Israel on an internationally accepted basis, which provides for the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967. with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security with Israel.”

Zaharova stated that they interact with both sides of this issue and said: “We are in favor of a long-term peaceful solution. We are taking appropriate measures in this direction and maintaining dialogue with all parties. “In our meetings with all parties, we discussed the general situation in and around the Gaza Strip, ways to end the conflict, the release of hostages, the delivery of humanitarian aid materials and the situation of foreign citizens, including Russian citizens.” he said.

Regarding Israel’s attack on the Cibaliye refugee camp in Gaza, spokesperson Zaharova said: “We once again remind all relevant parties that they must comply with the norms of international humanitarian law and that any acts of violence against civilians, attacks on housing and civil infrastructure is unacceptable. . ” saying.

AZERBAIJAN-ARMENIA RELATIONS

Referring to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Zaharova stated that they are in favor of using as a basis the agreements signed between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022.

Mariya Zaharova stated that they are ready to organize a tripartite meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in the capital Moscow as soon as possible. (AA)
