Protest in the United Kingdom against the company that supports the Israeli army
A group of Palestinian supporters in England staged a protest by throwing red paint at the entrance to the London headquarters of Italian aerospace and defense company Leonardo, claiming it supports the Israeli army.
The group called Palestine Action announced in their X statement that they carried out the action on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. The post used the words “Our government is a collaborator in genocide” and noted that Leonardo “equipped the Israeli army” that carried out attacks against Palestinians.
As protesters painted the entrance to the One Eagle Place building, where Leonardo’s London headquarters is located, red and wrote slogans supporting Palestine on its walls, Palestine Action stated in its statement: “Leonardo is selling Apache helicopter parts and F-35. Planes that bombed from Gaza to Israel.” Statements were included.
The statement states that one of the two protesters was arrested and the second protester, who climbed the eaves above the building’s entrance door, continued his protest.
THEY ALSO PAINT THE MINISTRY RED
Palestine Action activists protested the declaration named after former British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour by throwing red paint on the Foreign Office building in the morning.
On the other hand, London’s Metropolitan Police, in its statement regarding the ongoing protest in front of Leonardo, stated that one person was arrested for damaging property, and the second protester who climbed the eaves would be arrested after being safely taken down. .
The letter that Balfour wrote to Baron Walter Rothschild, patron of Zionism at the time, on November 2, 1917, went down in history as the Balfour Declaration. The letter expressing the British government’s support for establishing a “homeland” for Jews in Palestinian lands is considered the most important milestone in the process that led to the establishment of the State of Israel.
