Germany bans solidarity partnership between Hamas and Palestine
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced that the activities of Hamas and the “Solidarity Network with Palestinian Prisoners” (Samidoun) in the country were banned and the “Samidoun Germany” association was dissolved.
Faeser, in his statement in Berlin, the capital, noted that three weeks ago he and Prime Minister Olaf Scholz made a decision on the activities of Hamas and Samidoun in the country and said: “As Federal Minister of the Interior, today we prohibit the activities of Hamas and Samidoun in Germany and ‘Samiduon Germany'”. “I’m announcing that we have dismantled the company,” he said.
Assessing that Hamas aims to “destroy the State of Israel,” Faeser stated that Hamas propaganda in Germany manifests itself especially in “aggressive behavior at demonstrations and attacks on Jewish institutions and homes.”
Faeser said Samidoun is an international network that “spreads anti-Israel and anti-Semitic propaganda under the name of a so-called solidarity organization” for prisoners in various countries. Faeser stated that Samidoun has an anti-Semitic worldview and expressed satisfaction that the activities of these organizations were banned in a short time.
With the decision, Hamas and Samidoun propaganda in Germany will not be allowed on social media, their assets may be confiscated and those who continue to actively work for the organizations will be considered to have committed a crime. (AA)
