Remarkable statement by the former Israeli Prime Minister: If the media is impartial…
Former Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid criticized the media’s handling of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has continued since October 7.
“COWARD, LAZY”
Lapid said: “If the international media is objective, it will serve Hamas. If you show both sides, you serve Hamas. In my opinion, the media cannot simply pretend to tell both sides of the story. If they do, they would simply be telling Hamas’s side of the story. “This is cowardice and laziness,” he said.
“INSULT TO JOURNALISM”
Noting that this is an insult to victims, including Palestinians, Lapid also stated that it is an insult to the idea of what journalism fundamentally is.
“I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH CRITICISM OF ISRAEL”
Lapid stated that he has been a journalist for 31 years and said: “I have no problem with criticism of Israel, but when you know that one side is lying and the other is doing everything possible to verify the facts, at least we can hope you don’t provide an endless platform for lies.” (AA)
