Kremlin statement on Putin’s health
The Kremlin denied allegations about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health, saying he was in good health.
In his regular conference call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also dismissed accusations that Putin used a stunt double, calling them an “absurd hoax.”
A Russian channel on the Telegram messaging platform made an unspecified claim that Putin had a serious health problem on Sunday. Following the accusation, which also appeared in Western media, Peskov was asked about Putin’s state of health.
Putin, a judo fan and known publicly as an “enterprising man”, turned 71 on October 7. Despite his age, Putin maintains a busy daily schedule and most of his conversations are broadcast live.
In an interview in 2020, Putin denied accusations of using a specialist, but stated that he had been offered to use a specialist in the past for security reasons.
