Second case of Mahsa Amini in Iran… Brain death occurred
Armita Geravand, 16, allegedly beaten by morality police in Iran, was reported brain dead.
The young woman fell ill after taking the subway at the Shuheda Square stop in Tehran in the morning hours of October 1, and Armita’s condition was stated to be critical and she was transferred to Fajr Hospital.
In the security camera images of the incident published by the Iranian press, it is seen that a group took the young woman from the train and she remained motionless, unconscious.

Camera footage of the incident created controversy.
Opposition sources stated that the young woman was physically attacked because she did not comply with the mandatory rules on wearing the veil and lost consciousness in the process. Zamaneh Radio, based in Amsterdam, claimed that the young woman was “pushed by the authorities and she hit her head on the iron post” after boarding the train without a veil.
Official Iranian media announced that Armita’s brain death occurred in the hospital where she had been treated for days.
DEATH THAT PUT IRANIANS ON THE STREET
The incident is being compared to the death of Mahsa Amini, which sparked weeks-long protests in Iran, in which hundreds of people lost their lives and thousands were detained. Amini, 22, was detained by Tehran’s morality police in September last year for “not wearing her headscarf properly” and she died in custody three days later.
After Amini’s death, discussions broke out over the obligation to wear the veil, which has long existed in Iran.
Iranian authorities deny claims that 16-year-old Amita Geravand was attacked by morality police.
