Hakan Fidan: Israel seeks great revenge

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a statement to TRT Haber on the Palestinian-Israeli agenda.

“ISRAEL IS PURSUING A GREAT RETALIATION”

Minister Fidan said:

* “Now, this crisis is different from the previous crisis. Because Israel seeks great revenge. The losses he suffered on October 7 are the largest losses he has ever suffered. Currently he seeks great retaliation because he does not see compensation for this loss in peace but in revenge.

* Our position as a country is that this is defined as a crisis and a crime against humanity, without mitigating circumstances. Take a stand on this and prioritize it.

* Today, there is no electricity or water and there is a total siege in Gaza. With the war strategy it has currently developed, Israel has designated certain areas, starting in the north and ending in the south, as areas that need to be evacuated. Consequently, it has resorted to widespread bombing.

* Currently, many of the places where the civilian population lives, especially in the north, have been bombed. More than a million people have gone south. Now people are forced to choose between staying in the south or going to Egypt. This is another crisis dimension of the incident.

“USA. HAS BECOME A PARTNER”

* The Americans have now become partners in Israel’s efforts to achieve its military objectives in Gaza. When we look at statements from both the American president and national security officials and military authorities, we see that; The United States fully agrees to act alongside and support Israel, especially in operations against Gaza and Hamas.

“THERE IS A DEMAND FOR HOSTAGES”

* There are parties that want Turkey to play a real and authentic role in both fields. These are the parties and countries that come to us sincerely and ask for the rescue of their hostages. This is one of the topics we are currently working on. When we discussed this with Hamas, they were unable to bring these groups together due to the current war conditions. They claim that a quiet time and a process of a few days is needed to be able to use the initiative with respect to these groups. For military reasons, Israel does not want to grant this ceasefire at the moment. “Right now there are negotiations on this.”
