Thousands march in Jordan in support of Palestine

In reaction to Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza since October 7, which left thousands of Palestinians dead, Jordanians gathered in front of the Hussein Mosque in Amman after Friday prayers.

Thousands of people marched from the Hussein Mosque to Nahil Square with Palestinian flags and demanded the opening of the border between Jordan and Palestine. Activists shouted slogans such as “Palestine, Palestine, your people are free, oh Palestine”, “Hit, shoot, hit Tel Aviv” and “With our lives, with our blood, we will save you, oh Aqsa”.

Protesters demanded the closure of the Israeli embassy in Amman and demanded a response to violence committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

In the statement made yesterday by Jordan’s Public Security Directorate it was stated that demonstrations in support of Palestine will not be allowed on the Israeli border. (AA)
