Israel hit the church in Gaza: there are dead and wounded

The Gaza Interior Ministry announced that Israel attacked the Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza.

It was reported that “many people were killed and injured” as a result of the Israeli attack on the church where hundreds of displaced Palestinians took refuge.

According to the official Palestinian agency WAFA, a girl was killed in Israel’s attack on the historic Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyry in the Az-Zeytun district, south of Gaza City.

While the historic church was severely damaged during the attack, a building located near the church was also destroyed.

St. Porphyry Greek Orthodox Church, affiliated with the Anglican Church of Jerusalem, is located approximately 250 meters from Al-Ehli Baptist Hospital, which Israel bombed on October 17, killing hundreds of people.

It is known that approximately 1,000 Christians live in the area attacked by Israel, and those whose homes were destroyed took refuge in the church and its buildings for protection.

Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”

As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.

Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,400 Israelis, including 306 soldiers, were killed and 3,968 Israelis were wounded in the attacks carried out from Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza announced that 3,785 people, including 1,524 children, were killed and more than 12,000 injured in Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

It was claimed that 77 Palestinians were killed in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.

13 journalists lost their lives in Israeli attacks. (AA)
