TTB reaction to Israel
Israel attacked the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which was full of sick and displaced people. Hundreds of people lost their lives in the attack.
“WE WEAR BLACK RIBBONS ON OUR NECKS IN HEALTH INSTITUTIONS”
The following statements were made in the written statement shared on the social media account of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB):
* “The attacks carried out by Israel in Palestine, which took advantage of the Hamas attack as an opportunity and intended to completely end the occupation, have reached the level of genocide. We condemn the openly targeted shooting of health institutions, which left them inoperable by preventing basic needs from reaching them, and the murder of many health workers, patients and civilians.
* In light of international documents, we call on the United Nations and the World Medical Association to take action. We say it once again: war is a public health problem! Stand up to crimes against humanity, stop them! Peace, right now! “We wear black ribbons around our necks in all health institutions and share the pain of humanity with the ribbons we tie to our doors and windows.”
