UN Secretary General Guterres will go to Egypt

UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric announced Guterres’ visit at the daily press conference.

Stating that Guterres, who is currently in Beijing, will be in Cairo on Thursday (October 19) and meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Dujarric stated that the Secretary-General will also meet other officials.

WILL SPEAK AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Dujarric stated that the Secretary-General will speak at Egypt’s international conference on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Saturday (October 21).

Asked whether Guterres would go to Israel or Gaza, Dujarric said: “The Secretary-General will go where he believes will have a positive impact, taking into account the security situation.” he made the assessment of it.

Dujarric noted that Guterres also maintains successful contacts with the region from wherever he is. (AA)
