Confession of an Israeli official: we failed
According to Israeli Army Radio, the head of Israeli military intelligence, Aharon Haliva, said: “The start of the war was an intelligence error. “As the Military Intelligence Department under my administration, we did not warn about the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas,” he said.
“I ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY”
Noting that “they failed to fulfill their most important duties,” Haliva stated that “he, as head of the Military Intelligence Department, bears full responsibility for this failure.”
“NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE TASK”
The Israeli official said: “We will investigate everything that needs to be investigated more deeply and exhaustively and draw conclusions. “There is only one mission now, and that is to fight and win,” he said.
Following the attacks launched by Hamas on October 7, the claim that Israel was unable to obtain intelligence on the operation was frequently discussed around the world. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said: “There was no concrete intelligence warning about this incident. We could not understand such an event. There were some signs of intelligence the night before, but no such movement. “We will investigate everything thoroughly,” he said. (AA)
