Israeli Defense Minister: This war will be long

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made a statement after the war cabinet meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who came to Tel Aviv for the second time after his regional tour this week.

Stating that they “always knew that the United States was a good ally, but today Israel and the entire world saw it with their own eyes,” Gallant stressed that Blinken came for the second time this week and other high-level Washington figures visited Israel. “Everyone knows what it means to fly the American flag in the Mediterranean,” he said.

Stating that they are committed to Israeli citizens and soldiers on both sides of the Gaza border, the Defense Minister said: “This war will be long and costly, but we will win.”

A group carrying a banner reading “Jews against the occupation” protested outside the White House yesterday against the attacks on Gaza.

Following the latest clashes between Palestinian groups in the blockaded Gaza Strip and Israel, which began on October 7, Blinken arrived in Israel on October 12 and followed this country with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in its itinerant diplomacy. in the region visited. Blinken attended the Israeli war cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, where he arrived after his regional tour in the evening.

ATTACKS ON GAZA ON THE 11TH

The Israeli army continues its attacks on the Gaza Strip on the eleventh day of the war that began on October 7.

The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip with fighter jets, ships and artillery continued overnight. The Nusayrat and Shati refugee camps in central Gaza were heavily bombed by Israeli warplanes throughout the night. The eastern parts of the city were also targeted by Israeli artillery fire.

Nearly 3,000 people, including children, lost their lives in Israel’s attacks on Gaza.

Meanwhile, it was claimed that the Israeli administration has evacuated approximately 500 thousand Israelis from the Gaza area since the war began on October 7. Jonathan Conricus, Israeli army spokesman for foreign media, said that in addition to the Gaza Strip, about 20 settlements near the Lebanese border were evacuated due to the war.

UNSC REJECTS RUSSIA ceasefire project

Russia’s draft resolution calling for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza and condemning all civilian deaths was rejected at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Russia’s draft resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was voted on in the 15-member UN Security Council. The bill received 5 “yes” votes, while it was rejected with 6 “abstentions” and 4 “no” votes. The United States, United Kingdom, France and Japan voted “no.”

While Hamas was not specifically mentioned in Russia’s draft resolution, all civilian deaths were condemned. In a statement after the vote, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, stated that the bill presented by his country is completely humanitarian and noted that the UN Security Council is once again hostage to the interests selfish “western bloc” politicians.

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations (UN), Riyad Mansour, accused the Security Council of remaining for 10 days a spectator of the attack against two million people in the Gaza Strip. (AA)
