Soros University Activities Banned in Russia
The statement by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the Central European University, founded by George Soros, shaped the anti-Russian agenda of the global media.
Recalling that the university’s official objective is to support the values of “open society and democracy” in the former Soviet countries and in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the statement states that the financing of the university was supported by structures controlled by Soros.
The statement noted that the Russian Prosecutor’s Office considered the university’s activities “undesirable” and the following statements were used:
“In fact, the organization’s efforts are currently focused on discrediting the special military operation and Russia’s political leadership. Therefore, the university offers students a program that deliberately devalues and distorts the history of the Russian state, belittles the dignity of prominent Russian scientists, writers and cultural figures, and makes false statements about Russia’s culpability in disasters around the world. . which is absolutely false.” (AA)
